A handsome little man of mine brought me cherry blossoms today! Big smile from Mommy :)
Welcome to my reading room. This blog is for my benefit primarily to help me process and remember what I'm reading. I also have always enjoyed sharing anything I read that is good with my friends. It is my hope that my writing here will benefit others who are interested in the same books I am reading. I would love it if some would like to read along with me and COMMENT. Get a cup of tea and look around and enjoy some nature while you are at it. PLEASE COMMENT!

Bird nest from mom's yard

My parents have a bird, a wren, they believe, that tirelessly comes back every year and builds a new nest under the lid of their gas tank. The eggs have long since hatched and the birds gone from the nest, but the beautiful nest remains as well as one lonely egg that never hatched. The pics are of the nest and also we opened up the nest to see what we could see. A head was slightly recognizable and we could actually see some very small feathers.

Nature Journal
Last night, my neighbor called us over and showed us her discovery. She had lowered the plants on her porch so they could get more rain, and discovered a wrens nest with four VERY SMALL babies and one egg still unhatched. They are the smallest we have ever seen, smaller that my pinkie! The photos are not very good, because it was dusk, but I will change them out if we get better ones. You can make out the almost round orange ring, that is one of the babies opening their mouths!!!!!
